Guitar Practice Plan
Not sure what to practise? Pick how long you have and your level, and TwinkleLab builds a guided session — a warm-up, chord changes, strumming, a scale, ear training and a play-along — with a timer that moves you through each step. Every minute counts towards your practice streak.
Why a short daily session works
Ten focused minutes every day beats an hour once a week: your hands remember movements between sessions, and small wins keep you coming back. Each plan mixes the four things every guitarist needs — clean chord changes, steady rhythm, knowing the fretboard and a trained ear — and ends with real music.
What is in a session
- Warm-up: the one-finger-per-fret "spider" with a click, to wake up both hands.
- Chord changes: two chords and a one-minute challenge — count your changes and beat your best.
- Strumming: a pattern from the strumming library, played along with real chords.
- Scale practice: a position from the scales library, one note per click.
- Ear training: quick questions on intervals, chords, progressions and melodies.
- Play along: a four-chord progression with a backing to strum with.
Questions
How long should I practise guitar each day?
Ten to twenty focused minutes a day is enough to improve steadily. Consistency matters more than length.
What should a beginner practise on guitar?
Clean chord changes between open chords, a steady down-up strum, the notes on the low strings and a simple scale. The beginner plan covers all four.
Does the practice plan track my progress?
Yes, in your browser: minutes per day, your practice streak and your best chord-change counts. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.
